Family Day was started many years ago by Mrs. Betty Ernst who was the Soccer Mom Coordinator at the time.
Family
Day has evolved into one of the most enjoyable events of the year.
During the day the parents play their children in soccer games. During
the afternoon this year, we will have a Carnival for the children,
young and old. Clowns mingle through the crowd amusing the
children. All of this is free. Perhaps the hightlight of the day is the
Annual "Soccer Mom" game. Finesse and skill are sometimes lacking but
there is plenty of enthusiasm and heart. Before the Soccer
Moms play the men take the field for the annual "Coaches" game.
This game is open to all the men in the program. It is always a hard
played game. During the games and carnival atmosphere, everyone
can enjoy carnival food, hot dogs, pizza, cotton candy and popcorn
along with many other goodies. Music will be playing all afternoon
for your enjoyment. Normally, this day is orgazined by the Soccer
Mom Program & League Coordinators. All long with these ladies
this year's events could not have been done without the help of
one of the Board of Directors, Joanne Drake. Thank you all
so much!!
