All pertinent information, including updates and schedules will be posted on this page. OVERLEA CUP NEWS and UPDATES Posted 8/20/07: THANK YOU TO ALL THE TEAMS THAT PARTICIPATED IN THE 2007 OVERLEA CUP! WE HOPE THAT YOU ENJOYED YOURSELF. SCORESHEETS HAVE BEEN UPDATED. THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES SCORESHEET IS LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAT. POSTED 8/15/07: RULE CHANGE: Overtime in Playoff and Championship games will consist of two 5 minute SUDDEN DEATH periods. POSTED 8/15/07: Parking at Fullerton: Please do not park in the grass the police will ticket your car. Do not park in any private lots that are posted. The towing company is located on Belair Road and they patrol the lots looking for easy money. POSTED 8/15/07: Parking at Linover: Due to bridge construction on Lillian Holt we have lost some of our field parking. Please be patient and considerate of others. When possible it would be a good idea to car pool to Linover. The entrance to Linover has changed due to the construction, please be very careful when entering and exiting the park. POSTED 8/15/07: Field Marshal's will be present at all sites. Coaches need not call in scores. POSTED 8/15/07: As always the Baltimore Blast will have players at Linover for the Championship ceremonies and to help with the trophy presentations on Sunday. POSTED 8/15/07: DC United will have a representative at Fullerton on Saturday and Linover on Sunday selling discounted tickets ($20.00) for the match on Sept. 29. A portion of the proceeds will go to the "Mike Woodard Memorial Education Fund". POSTED 8/15/07: CMSA will have a representative taking pictures for photo ID's at Linover Park on Saturday from 10AM to 3PM and Sunday from 10 AM to 2PM. POSTED 8/15/07: Hickory has filled the open spot in Boys Under 8. POSTED 8/09/07: Overlea Upper, Overlea Middle and Overlea Lower are the three fields at Overlea High School on Kenwood Ave. There is no Overlea Middle School. POSTED 8/9/07: We currently have openings in the following age groups for the 2007 Overlea Cup: Boys: Gold Under 8 Please forward this information to any teams in your organization that may be interested. POSTED 8/01/07: Ref fees are $ 24.00 per game. Under 8 will only have one ref. Therefor the cost is $ 12.00 per team per game. POSTED 6/8/07: The Overlea Cup page is in the process of being updated with information and Entry forms for the 2007 Overlea Cup. POSTED 6/8/07: The U12 Silver (U11) divisions will play 11 v 11. POSTED 8/1/07: Fullerton Elementary School: PLEASE do not park on the sidewalks or in the NO PARKING zones. The Police will ticket your car. POSTED 8/1/07: Rule Clarification: In a 5 team Division, each team will play every other team. The top 2 teams will play for the Championship. POSTED 8/1/07: REMINDER; Rosters must be turned in at Linover Park prior to your first game. Registration will be open from 4PM to 8PM on Friday and all day on Saturday. Coaches will receive Bag Pins for all of their rostered players at registration POSTED 8/1/07: Baltimore County Police will be on hand to help get traffic out of Linover Park on Sunday after the "Opening Ceremonies" that Kick off the Championship Series. Please be patient, the championship games at Fullerton will not start until everyone gets there from Linover Park. POSTED 8/1/07: Please do not park on the grass at Honeygo Park or Fullerton Field/Elementary School. Also, Please ask everyon connected with your teams to use the garbage cans and not leave any trash at the sites. Extra garbage cans have been placed at all the sites. GENERAL INFORMATION Please remember this tournament is for recreation and CYO travel teams only. Your roster should be limited to players who will be on your team in the fall travel leagues. We depend upon the integrity and honesty of the coaches and programs they represent. Boys Divisions of play are as follows: U8, U10 Gold, U10 Silver, U12 Gold, U12 Silver, U14 Gold, U14 Silver & U16. If there is enough interest at the U16 level we will field a silver and gold division. If there is not enough interest there will only be a Gold division. Boys U8, U10 and Girls U8, U10 (Gold and Silver) will play 7 v 7. All other age groups will play 11 v 11. Rain out dates are August 30, September 1, & 2, 2007. This tournament and it's rain dates supercede any other tournament. Due to pre-tournament costs there will be no refunds after a team is accepted. We welcome any comments on the Overlea cup. THE OVERLEA CUP TROPHY The Overlea Cup is a perpetual trophy. Champions keep the trophy for one year. After which time it is returned and a plaque bearing their name will be placed on the trophy along with all the preceding champions. Each player on the champion and 2nd place teams receive individual trophies. One of the unique aspects of the Overlea Cup is the ceremonies that kick-off the Championship games. 2007 REGISTRATION INFORMATION Teams returning from last year will be given first consideration, provided they return their entry forms by July 22, 2007. Any remaining berths, not filled by July 22 will be filled according to the date applications are received. Please Mail Early! Entry fee $ 260.00 before July 22 and $ 285.00 after July 22. The entry fee for all Under 8 teams is $ 100 . Entry fee does not include referee fees. Ref fees will be posted on this site. For additional information and ENTRY FORMS for the 2007 Overlea Cup click the link below. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY A player's age as of 8/1/07 shall be used to determine player eligibility. Coaches should carry some form of Player ID (birth certificate, ID Card, etc.). Players may not play for more than one team in any one-age bracket. Any player playing for a "Gold" team may not play for a "Silver" team in the same age bracket. Any team using ineligible players will forfeit any game in which that player participated. Completed rosters must be turned in prior to your first game at the registration tent at Linover Park. Do not send roster with tournament application. To obtain a Roster click the link below. Please note the information concerning the Ceremonies that Kick Off the Championship Games. We will attempt to update the scoresheets every couple of hours. Sunday scores may not get updated until Monday 8/20. The Championship Games Scoresheet is at the end of the "Girls Scoresheets". The "official" scoresheets are posted at Linover Park. The following is a list of sites that will be used for the Overlea Cup. We are providing the addresses of the fields for those that prefer to use Map Quest. ELMWOOD ELEM. - 531 Dale Ave. - 21206 FULLERTON FIELDS. - 4304 Fullerton Ave. - 21236 LINOVER PARK - Address is Terrace Drive but the parking lot access is via Lillian Holt Drive OVERLEA HIGH SCHOOL - 5401 Kenwood Ave. - 21206 HONEYGO REGIONAL PARK - 9033 Honeygo Blvd. - 21128 The only access to all parking lots at Honeygo Park is via Honeygo Blvd. Honeygo 1 is the lit field, Honeygo 2 is the lower field. Inclement Weather Policy All games will be played as long as the field conditions are safe. In the event of lightning all games will stop immediately. Players and fans should wait in their cars. After the storm has passed, play will resume. Baltimore County policy requires that play cannot resume for one half hour after the last bolt of lightining or clap of thunder.
CMSA SOCCER In the past a representative from CMSA soccer has taken photos for ID cards at the Overlea Cup. Photo schedules will be posted when they become available. For more information on the CMSA Fall leagues click on the link below.
